Central Australia experiences the earthquake at the epicenter of the country’s biggest earthquake on Saturday.

The earthquake was measured to be at a Richter scale of 6.1. There have been no injuries reported. It originated from the region of Ernabella, which is an arts hub nourishing about 500 people from six different communities. The seismologist at Geoscience Australia David Jepsen reported that the communities living in the surrounding area of the epicenter of the earthquake have informed about strong earthquake shocks.

He said, “An event like this, there are a number of Aboriginal communities around there and they have experienced strong shaking. We’ve heard from them, people have felt strong shaking, but we haven’t heard of any damage yet, but there is that possibility.”

The earthquake that struck yesterday has been reported to be the aftershock of the earthquakes before. Several shocks have been reported earlier before. A magnitude of 4.3 was recorded earlier in the month on the 16th of March, and another of 3.8 magnitude was recorded on 20th March. The earthquake Australia experience yesterday is the biggest in its history since 1997 when an earthquake of 6.3 was recorded on the Western side of Australia.
