Off duty Hamilton officer makes arrest after stabbing

USA: Free $30 Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…An off-duty Hamilton Police officer assisted with arresting a woman after witnessing an assault on another woman in a North End neighbourhood.

On Monday June 6th, 2011 at approximately 10:30 a.m., an off-duty Hamilton Police officer was driving in the area of Ferguson Ave. and Simcoe St. when he noticed two women arguing on the sidewalk. The officer continued to watch the two women as the argument escalated to a physical confrontation. One of the women pulled out a knife and began to stab at the other woman involved in the argument. The officer, and another male who had been walking with the victim, intervened, disarmed the suspect and maintained control of her until uniformed officers arrived to continue with the arrest.

The victim, a 28 yr. old Hamilton woman, received multiple shallow cuts and scratches to her torso and arms. She was treated on scene by EMS and went to hospital on her own for further treatment.

The woman arrested, who is known to the victim, received a cut to her hand during the altercation. She was taken to hospital for treatment and released. She was held for a bail hearing for June 7th, 2011. The knife used in the assault was seized.
