On Thursday, June 9, 2011, as a result of a joint investigation and partnership by officers from the two police agencies, a series of search warrants were executed at a Mississauga residence on Living Arts Drive and its related storage lockers. Found in the residence was a quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana. Found in the related storage lockers were the following firearms;
1. A 9 mm Leinad Mac11 fully automatic machine gun pistol and magazine.
2. A .40 calibre Smith and Wesson pistol and magazine, fully loaded.
3. A .38 calibre Smith and Wesson pistol and magazine.
4. A 9 mm Beretta pistol and magazine, loaded.
5. A .25 calibre Brevet pistol and magazine, loaded.
6. A .40 calibre Springfield Armoury pistol and magazine.
7. A .38 calibre six-shot revolver, fully loaded.
8. A .357 Magnum XD Springfield semi-automatic pistol and magazine, fully loaded.
9. A 9 mm P.A.K. semi-automatic pistol.
All of these firearms have been submitted to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto for forensic analysis.
In addition to these firearms, over two-hundred (200 rounds) of varying ammunition were located and seized by police. All of these cartridges are compatible with these seized firearms.
Samir ABDELGADIR, a 30 year-old resident of Mississauga, was located in Hamilton and arrested by officers there.
He has been charged with 63 firearm and drug related offences. Mr. ABDELGADIR was brought before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton and held for a special bail hearing.
