Three charged with drug trafficking in London

On Monday, July 18, 2011, at 12:10 p.m., members of the London Police Guns and Drugs Section, with the assistance of the RCMP, arrested a 32-year-old male and a 23-year old male from London for drug trafficking, in the area of Windermere Road near Adelaide Street North. At the time of the arrest, these males were in possession of three garbage bags containing marihuana bud that was found to weigh 41.8 pounds. The 32-year-old male was also in possession of $1,440 and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result of the above noted vehicle stop, at 4:45 p.m. police executed a search warrant at a Highbury Avenue North address. A 32-year-old male was located at this address and was also arrested by police.

While there they seized: 160 grams of marihuana, 325 grams of marihuana resin, 493 grams of marihuana shake, 2 grams of psilocybin and 7 ecstasy tablets. The total value of the drugs is approximately $122,000.00. As well, police seized $13,130.00 in Canadian cash and $385 in US currency.

Police have charged 32-year-old Jason Carpenter of London with:

 Possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
 Trafficking in marihuana contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
 Possess a substance included in Schedule III, psilocybin, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
 Possess a substance included in Schedule III, ecstasy, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
 Possession of cannabis resin for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
 Possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
 Possession of proceeds obtained by crime, contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Police have charged 23-year-old Robert Cao of London with:
 Possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Police have charged 32-year-old Steven Johnson of London with:
 Possession of cannabis marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
 Possess of cannabis resin for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
