Peel Regional Police homicide detectives have charged a wanted suspect with First Degree Murder in the shooting death of Donald Richard GRANT.

On Sunday, November 7, 2010, at approximately 9:34 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a call on Ambler Drive in Mississauga for a victim who had been shot. Shortly after arriving, officers discovered Donald Richard GRANT, a 27 year-old male from Toronto, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A Canada-wide warrant for First Degree Murder was issued for the arrest of Jerome DERBY, a 21 year-old male from Toronto.

With information provided by the public, and the assistance of the Hamilton Police Service, investigators were able to locate and arrest the suspect in Hamilton.

On Tuesday, August 2, 2011, investigators arrested and charged Jerome DERBY, a 21 year-old man from Toronto, with First Degree Murder. DERBY was held overnight for a Bail hearing and will be appearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on August 3, 2011.
