RCMP issued an Amber Alert to find a missing three-year-old child of B.C., who mysteriously went missing during a supervised visit from his father but was later discovered safely in Montana, along with the arrest of his father.

The RCMP of Elk Valley issued an Amber Alert on Thursday afternoon after the child, Alvin Barnett, vanished during a supervised visit from his father, 39-years-old Robert Barnett, near Sparwood, B.C. Just after the child went missing, the father’s vehicle was marked crossing into Montana around 3 p.m. MT. Later on Friday morning the authorities in Montana declared they have found the boy’s father, who was reported in by a civilian on a side street of the town of Whitefish, so the police successfully made the arrest. It was reassured by the authorities that the boy was completely safe, and his father has been detained in police custody at the Flathead detention centre in Montana.

The spokesperson of the RCMP, Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, made an announcement on Thursday disclosing that the child and his father were together during a supervised parental visit, when out-of-nowhere both of them disappeared.  The Elk Valley RCMP made an official request to the officials to initiate an Amber Alert, informing the public and press across Western Canada and the United States. It was convened by the officials on both sides of the border that the father on the run with his son in a 2002 blue Subaru Outback with B.C. license plates.
