A Winnipeg hunter, who was lost in the dense woods for almost three weeks, has finally returned to his family in healthy condition. Brad Lambert spent three weeks alone with drinking water melted from mere snow.

Brad Lambert left for a deer-hunting trip, on Nov. 15, near Marchand, Man. southeast of his home.  Lambert claims that perhaps he might have taken a wrong turn, during the journey, which lead him nowhere and soon he was lost within few hours. He stated that “I spent nights in my vehicle and days building fires and looking for planes.” During the time that he was lost, Lambert’s family members acquired the help of police, hundreds of volunteers and aircraft for searching the area for him.  Authorities requested the locals in Ontario and Manitoba for check their sheds, outdoor structures and garages.

One of the volunteers searching for Lambert, Archie Chabot, agreed that it is pretty easy to get lost in the dense wooded area. Chabot admitted that “It’s very easy to get turned around, you could wander in circles for days.” Even though Lambert was an experienced hunter, he still was not able to hunt a single animal for food.  He narrated that often at nights, the temperatures decreased below freezing.  David MacDonald, from Canadian School of Survival, pointed out that the main reason behind Lambert’s survival was being well hydrated.  MacDonald alleged that “three days without water you can come close to death and three weeks without food you can certainly come close to death.”
