On Friday, July 23, 2010, at 4 p.m., police responded to a call for an armed man at a restaurant in the Kipling Avenue/Queensway Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

– a man, armed with a rifle, entered a restaurant,

– the accused ordered everyone out of the restaurant and barricaded himself inside,

– the accused later surrendered to police.

Terrance McBurnie, 50, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Weapons Dangerous,
2) Public Mischief,
3) Firearm Careless Storage,
4) Careless Storage Ammunition,
5) Carry Concealed Weapon,
6) Careless Use of a Firearm,
7) Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition,
8) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized,
9) False Message.

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Saturday, July 24, 2010, room 111, at 10 a.m.
