The alleged terrorist, Hassan Diab, has his legal team completely geared up as his case reaches the Court of Appeal for Ontario on Monday in an effort to have an extradition order quelled. Former university professor, Mr. Diab, was arrested five years ago this month at the request of French authorities, who suspect him to be responsible for 1980 bombing of a Paris synagogue. The incident resulted in four deaths along with injuries.

Diab is a former University of Ottawa and Carleton University sociology professor, who was arrested at the behest of French authorities and force to spent several months in jail before being released on strict bail conditions. The bail conditions also asked him to wear a GPS ankle bracelet at all time in exchange for his freedom, which ultimately costs his family $2,000 a month.

Sources tell that Diab has been unable to work since being arrested by an RCMP SWAT team at his Gatineau apartment while he was preparing to go for a run. Almost 60-year-old Diab has no criminal record. He has openly stated at numerous occasion that he is innocent and a victim of mistaken identity. During an interview, he pleaded that “I am innocent of the accusations against me,” and “I did not do it. I have never engaged in terrorism. I am not an anti-Semite and have always been opposed to bigotry and violence. I am willing to answer any questions the French authorities may ask.”
