The suspicious death that occurred in Southwest Edmonton last week has now been deemed a homicide.

On Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 around 1:20 a.m. police and EMS were called to a residence in the area of 57 Avenue and 172 Street after an altercation took place. One man was severely injured and EMS pronounced him dead on scene.

Results of autopsy that took place on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 found Harvey Rob Frenchman, 20, died from a stab wound.

Harold Donald Papin, 23, was charged with second degree murder, possession of an offensive weapon and breach of recognizance.

Background:

The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is investigating a suspicious death that occurred around 1:20 a.m. at a residence in the area of 57 Avenue and 172 Street on Friday, Nov.1, 2013.

Police have a person in interest in custody and continue to investigate.
