Police investigators are asking the public to help identify the person(s) responsible for breaking into an Oshawa high school overnight and causing significant damage.

On Monday, August 23, 2010 just before 3 a.m., officers were called to Central High School located on Gibb Street in Oshawa for a break and enter. Investigation revealed that the suspect or suspects had gained entry and set a fire inside the school. Oshawa Fire Services attended and extinguished the fire.

Officers searched the area but no arrests were made. Further investigation revealed damage in several areas of the building, including the main office and the auto shop. Numerous photographs were damaged on the walls, glass partitions and doors were smashed and several computers were thrown around. Damage is estimated at approximately $5,000.
