Police Charges Third Suspect in 18-Year-Old’s Death

Police has confirmed to have laid second degree charges against a third suspect in the deadly stabbing of an 18-year-old outside a downtown bar last weekend. According to authorities, Lukas Strasser-Hird and his friends’ waged two different fights with another group outside a downtown bar early Saturday. Out of which, the later turned fatal and caused 18-year-old Strasser-Hird being seriously injured in an attack involving seven to 10 people, which later ended with his death in hospital.

20-year-old Joch Pouk was arrested was arrested on Thursday, and will now be facing charges of second-degree murder. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Nathan Paul Gervais have already been charged with first-degree murder, while 19-year-old Franz Emir Cabrera encounters second-degree murder charge. Police claims to have had prior record of Cabrera but for unrelated and non-serious offences only, whereas Strasser-Hird had recently returned to Calgary after studying abroad in Bolivia and was out with friends at the time of offence.

According to Police investigation, Strasser-Hird and friends got into a fight with a second group outside a nightclub in the early morning hours last Saturday, which resulted in the staff forcing them out. Consequently, Strasser-Hird and his friends were led out of the bar but they remained outside at the back door, prompting the two sides to reconvene in the back alley. Police had previously estimated that the group approximately involved seven to ten people in the attack against Strasser-Hird, but the victim did not know either of the accused.
