In case of the 36-year-old Mississauga man, Ernest Guinto, who was initially believed to have gone missing since he disappeared late last week, the odds are shifting and possibility of him missing is becoming less likely. In a press release issued by the Peel Regional Police on Friday, it was alleged that with each day that passes in the search, chances of foul pay are increasing. It was stated that “information gathered to date by investigators suggests that he may be trying to avoid persons involved with criminal activity.”

According to police record, Guinto was last seen at Square One Shopping Centre by a family member on Dec. 29, 2013. It was mentioned in a statement issued by the police that “despite no one having seen or heard from Guinto for over two weeks, investigators remain hopeful that he may have gone into hiding, though that possibility becomes less likely as time passes.” Furthermore, it was added that investigators believe that since hasn’t contacted his family to let them know he is OK, it is “extremely unusual” that he is missing or in hiding.

Police announced that the homicide and missing people’s bureau has taken over the case due to the “suspicious nature” of the disappearance and the possibility of foul play. According to a detailed explanation provided by the police, the missing man is 5-foot-7, 170 pounds Asian with a heavy build, who has long black hair shaved at the sides with brown eyes. Reports claim that he was last seen wearing a red hoodie, dark jogging pants and light brown Timberland boots.
