EPS Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation into the homicide of Jesse Lee James, and after interviewing witnesses in the area, have new information new information regarding a suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, with long black hair in a distinctive ponytail that almost reaches to the waist and may be braided.

Background:

On Saturday, September 4, 2010, around 3 p.m., police were called to a parking lot on the 300 block of Saddleback Road after residents reported hearing shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male, 23-year-old Jesse Lee James of Edmonton, in a residential parking lot. James is known to police and this is not believed to be a random incident.

On Monday, September 6, 2010, police officers located what is believed to be the vehicle that fled the scene of the homicide. On that same day, a search warrant was executed at a north side residence, not far from where the vehicle was located and seized earlier that day. Several occupants within the residence were interviewed by police.

On Wednesday, September 8, 2010, the Medical Examiner determined that Jesse Lee James died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Police are looking for three suspects in the homicide. No charges have been laid at this time and no one is in custody.
