Pickering resident Dwayne Locksley Campbell charged with attempt murder

On Friday, January 31, 2014, at approximately 11:25 a.m., officers from 21 Division were at a motel located on Steelwell Road in relation to an on-going investigation.  Shortly after arriving, they became involved in a foot pursuit with a male party, who was subsequently arrested. 

Dwayne Locksley Campbell, a 34 year-old Pickering resident was arrested on a warrant for Attempt Murder in relation to a shooting which occurred in December 2013. 

On Saturday, December 14, 2013, at approximately 3:45 A.M., Peel Regional Police were called to the Throne Banquet Hall, located at 200 Advance Boulevard, Brampton, in response to a disturbance call. Police arrived to find a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a Toronto trauma unit where he underwent surgery for life-threatening injuries sustained in the shooting. 

The victim remains in hospital and is expected to recover. 

Dwayne Locksley Campbell is charged with Attempted Murder, Careless Use of a Firearm, Breach of Firearm Prohibition, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Resisting Arrest. 

Campbell will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a Bail Hearing on Saturday, February 1, 2014.
