Police has announced to have laid charges against the only suspect in the homicide case of Myrna Letandre, a woman missing for seven years until her remains were found in Point Douglas home in 2013. 38-year-old British Columbian Traigo Ehkid Andretti has now been charged with second-degree murder. A joint police task force of the RCMP and Winnipeg Police Service, entitled Project Devote, was investigating the case.

Andretti was arrested by Project Devote investigators on May 30, 2014 in B.C. He also has a known alias Dylan Harold Grubb. Devote was transported to Winnipeg and still remains in custody. In his remarks, the officer in charge of criminal operations in Manitoba for the RCMP, Chief Superintendent Scott Kolody, alleged that “our investigative units within the RCMP and Winnipeg Police Service and other police agencies throughout Manitoba and Canada are part of a unified network that routinely discusses and shares information and best practices concerning serious investigations.”

Winnipeg Police Service’s superintendent of investigative operations, Danny Smyth, alleged that “these charges are the result of Project Devote’s careful investigation of leads and gathering of evidence.” Smyth alleged that “while we are pleased to bring these charges before the courts, our thoughts go out to Ms. Letandre’s family members, who have suffered an overwhelming loss. We hope this will bring them some measure of justice.” Earlier this spring, Andretti had pleaded guilty to have murdered his wife in British Columbia last year.
