Three boys arrested for trying to sell a gun at Downsview Secondary School in Toronto

The Toronto Police Service has charged three people in connection with a firearm investigation.

It is alleged that:

– in February 2010, a 15-year-old boy attended Downsview Secondary School for the purpose of selling a handgun,

– the firearm was then sold to two boys, aged 14 and 17.

All three boys have had birthdays prior to their arrests.

On Wednesday, November 10, 2010, a 16-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Trafficking in Firearms,
2) Possession of a restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized,
3) Possession of Firearm for the purpose of trafficking.

On Tuesday, November 9, 2010, a 15-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Trafficking in Firearms,
2) Possession of a restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized,
3) Possession of Firearm for the purpose of trafficking.

On Thursday, November 11, 2010, a 18-year-old man, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Trafficking in Firearms,
2) Possession of a restricted weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized,
3) Possession of Firearm for the purpose of trafficking.

All three accused cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The 16-year-old was scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, room 204F, at 10 a.m.

The 15-year-old was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, November 11, 2010, room 101, at 10 a.m.

The 18-year-old is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Friday, November 12, 2010, room 204F, at 10 a.m.
