Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne, was present with Liberal candidate for Sudbury in upcoming byelection, Glenn Thibeault, when he officially launched his campaign. Thibeault stressed that he aims to continue fighting for the real issues of the people of Sudbury, including jobs, healthcare and transportation.

In his remarks, Thibeault stated that “the people of this community have been clear — they want a representative who understands not only what makes Sudbury great, but also the unique set of issues that come with living in the north.” First elected as a federal Member of Parliament for Sudbury in 2008, Thilbeault is Cambrian College’s developmental services worker program graduate who spent majority of his career fighting for supports for persons with developmental disabilities and for services for families struggling with autism.  He mentioned “I’m very excited to be a part of the Ontario Liberal team and know that when it comes to matters like four-laning Highway 69, completing the Maley Drive extension, improving access to quality healthcare and creating jobs through mineral developments like the Ring of Fire, I know I will be a more effective champion for Sudbury at the provincial level.”

Premier Wynne mentioned in a press statement that “I am thrilled that Glenn has decided to be a part of our team as he continues to serve the people of Sudbury,” adding that “Glenn’s energy and experience will make him an invaluable addition as we work to bring greater security and more opportunity to the people of Sudbury, and across the province.”
