Project Lunge targeted illicit drug networks suspected of transporting and distributing illegal drugs and controlled substances.

The search resulted in the arrest of a man from Grand-Barachois and a 41-year-old woman from Shediac. Two men from the Charlottetown area were also arrested during the execution of search warrants in P.E.I. In total, police seized approximately 1.5 kilograms of cocaine as well as a quantity of crack cocaine and Hydromorphone. Three cars believed to be stolen and a quantity of cash were also seized.

On February 13, 2015, 45-year-old Guy Joseph Cormier, also known as 'Aiken', appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with four counts of trafficking Hydromorphone and two counts of trafficking cocaine. The court issued a restraining order of Cormier's Grand-Barachois residence under the authority of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Cormier was remanded into custody until his next court appearance scheduled on February 20, 2015. The 41-year-old woman from Shediac was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.

'The trafficking and distribution of drugs and controlled substances is an issue that affects every province and territory in Canada' said S/Sgt. André Potvin of RCMP Federal Operations (East) in New Brunswick. 'Project Lunge is a great example of the level of cooperation between different policing jurisdictions that is necessary to keep illegal drugs out of our communities.'

The investigation is continuing.
