The Pori, Finland native has appeared in eight games with the Marlies this season, posting a record of 3-3-1 with a 1.95 goals against average and 0.936 save percentage. The rookie goaltender ranks third in the league in both goals against average and save percentage. He made 33 saves last Tuesday night in Hartford for his first career AHL/pro shutout. Rynnas made 27 saves on Thursday night to backstop Toronto to a 5-1 victory at Adirondack, and then made 42 saves on Friday as the Marlies went into Giant Center and defeated the two-time defending Calder Cup champions from Hershey, 3-2.
In recognition of this achievement, Rynnas will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Marlies home game.
The Marlies continue their 10-game road trip tomorrow night when they travel to Hamilton to take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.
