Louise PitreCome spend An Evening in Paris and A Night in New York with the Tony Award nominated star of Broadway’s MAMMA MIA!, host of BRAVO’s Star Portraits and five-time Dora Mavor Moore Award winner Louise Pitre.  Backed by her long-time accompanies Diane Leah, Louise offers intimate performances in story and in song with selections from Mamma Mia!, Les Misérables Piaf, GYPSY, Jacques Briel Is Alive And Well as well as original songs and personal favourites.  Show-stopping songs, lots of laughter and disarmingly personal banter culminate in an unforgettable evening with the Canadian Grande Dame of musical theatre!

Louise Pitre earned a Tony nomination for her role as Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! and made her Broadway debut when Mamma Mia! opened at the Winter Garden Theatre in 2001, (where she held the role for two years).  She became a favourite of Toronto audiences with performances as Fantine in Les Misérables and as the title character in Piaf. Louise has also starred in Annie Get Your Gun, Song & Dance, Jacques Briel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; The World Goes ‘Round; Blood Brothers; Tartuffe; Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf?; The Roar of the Greasepaint,The Smell of the Crowd; Applause; and Rock ‘n’ Roll etc. She is the winner of three Dora Mavor Moore Awards, the National Broadway Touring Award, a New York Theatre World Award, a San Francisco Critics’ Circle Award and a Bessie Award: all for best performance by a leading lady in a musical.

Louise is the recipient of three honourary degrees –one each from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Humber College and her alma mater, The University of Western Ontario (Honourary Doctorate of Music).  On September 23 and 24, 2009, Louise sang the role of Ulrika in the concert version of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus’ new musical Kristina at Carnegie Hall! Most recently, she won a Dora for her role in the Toxic Avenger where she played Mayor Babs Belgoody and Ma Ferd and has just wrapped Love, Loss, and What I Wore in Toronto.

This season, Rouge Valley Retirement Residence sponsors the Matinee Performances by Louise Pitre, Dan Hill, on February 2 and Jukebox Hits Live! With “Freddy Vette And The Flames” on March 8.  Matinee Performance features abbreviated versions of full evening program and complimentary refreshments courtesy of the series sponsors. Doors open at 1 p.m., Show at 2 p.m.  Matinee Single Tickets are $26.00.
