Please join us for the opening of the 13th Annual Emerging Artists Exhibition at InterAccess. A part. One half. A fraction, a quarter, a hint but never ever whole: a search for wholeness in the work of four emerging artists at InterAccess, Toronto. Curated by Natasha Chaykowski and Nancy Webb. Artists and works: Anna Hawkins (Montreal), Venus (2011) Rob Donnelly (Toronto), One Must Eradicate (2013) Britta Evans-Fenton (Ottawa), System Failure (2011) Maria Tsylke (Toronto), Mothers Energy Tools (2012/13) Never Ever Whole is about the impossibility of accessing the entirety of something and considers the impulse to relentlessly pursue the whole, despite its elusive nature. Each artist articulates the complicated pursuit of wholeness through a series of divided images, blurred messages, concealed texts and abstract auras. How does technology mediate, hinder or exacerbate the pursuit of this whole? The works in this exhibition each point to a particular instance of technological intervention in the endless quest for an experience of totality. Exhibition Dates: July 26 August 17, 2013 Opening Reception: Friday, July 26, 2013 at 7pm. InterAccess is located at 9 Ossington Avenue, Toronto, ON, Canada, M6J 2Y8.
