The Toronto Police Service, in partnership with the South and West Asian Consultative Committee and participation from the Muslim Consultative Committee, will be hosting the 9th Annual Police – Youth Basketball Tournament on Saturday, August 14th, 2010 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. The tournament will take place at Humber College (North Campus, the Gordon Ragg Student Athletic Centre) located at 205 Humber College Boulevard, Toronto.

This tournament will showcase approximately 80 youth from the South and West Asian and Middle Eastern communities. The event will promote and encourage positive interaction among the players and the Toronto Police Service and it will also emphasize cross-cultural awareness and the importance of positive role models.

The opening ceremony and a greatly anticipated “highlight game” between the Asia Pacific Basketball Team consisting of Toronto police officers and a ‘Select All Star Youth Team’ will begin at 12:00 pm. Senior police representatives, along with members of the Service’s Consultative Committees will also be in attendance.
