The WedLuxe Wedding Show is where “True Love meets True Luxury” and if you are a bride-to-be in the GTA, this is the show you need to go to. As a member of two bridal parties in upcoming weddings, I am becoming quite educated in what is involved in planning a wedding. So when my cousin recently got engaged I suggested we visit the WedLuxe Show. What better place to start your planning?!

So there we were, early Sunday morning walking onto the second floor of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel and being greeted by a ceiling covered in rose vines, bountiful collections of lovely floral arrangements and just ultimate decadence at every corner. The theme of this year’s show was “Springtime in Paris” and literally felt transported to The City of Light.

Our first stop after registering was at the Le Rêve Boutique Gift Bar. This is where your complimentary tote bag came into good use! We were showered with a variety of gifts and samples from the many sponsors of the show. Moroccanoil samples (one of my favoriteproduct lines!), William Ashley tea cups, Jergens body products and the list goes on. It was truly a fantastic way to start the show. From here we were guided over to the Ooh La La Nail Salon where manicurists would freshen up your nails with a wide selection of O.P.I colors! Definitely felt very spoiled at this point.

Next stop was at the Marche Aux Fleur market where we were able to select our own bouquet from a wide range of stunning flowers! My cousin particularly enjoyed this stop as she was able to get some ideas for her floral arrangements. A big plus was the helpful attendants who were great with answering questions on the different types of flowers.

The next place on the list was actually my favorite, the La Vie En Rose Café! Set up as a Parisian style café complete with a giant Eiffel Tower made of macarons, you were able to select from a wide range of pastries and sandwiches and then sit while the “serveurs” brought you coffee and tea! It was the perfect way to take a break and refuel since we still had so much to see.

Once we had our fill of French pastries, we headed over to the first showroom floor where my cousin and I were able to talk to many vendors offering services from décor to catering. The set ups were stunning and great for getting ideas for your own wedding. Once we quenched our thirst at the WedLuxe Soda Bar we headed over to the second showroom.

On the way over we stopped by the Moroccanoil Salon where you were able to test out hair styles for your wedding day! Unfortunately for us it was super popular and the wait list was quite long so no hair dos for us. We would simply have to console ourselves with the awesome samples received at the Boutique Gift Bar.

After walking around the second showroom and snapping some pictures, we called it a day. All in all it was a wonderful way to spend our Sunday and I know that my cousin was very happy with the experience. She came out of the show with a ton of new vendor contacts, ideas for her own wedding, and a lot more confidence about planning her big day. If you’re planning on attending next year’s WedLuxe Wedding Show, I would suggest getting there early in order to get the best experience. By mid-afternoon the place was bursting with happy brides wandering the floor so if you want to get some good one-on-one time with the vendors, remember – early bride gets the cake!
