Montreal Raised Indie Band Celebrated as Canadian Music Success Story
With accolades ranging from being the first North American indie band to release an album in South East Asia, to being Nelly Furtado's go-to producers for her releases in the India and Pakistan markets, JoSH received arguably their biggest compliment to date by being asked to perform at the upcoming Quebec City Summer Fest on July 14, 2010.
Although this is their first time performing for thousands in North America on a stage alongside The Black Eyed Peas, Rush, Iron Maiden and Carlos Santana, JoSH are a household name in India/Pakistan with performances in over 25 countries under their belt. With three platinum plus albums and frequent stadium performances for tens of thousands, JoSH even toured South East Asia with Nelly Furtado in 2007.
JoSH (meaning "passion" in Hindi) have also been heralded around the world as the first Indian/Pakistani fusion band, consisting of Rup Magon (of Punjabi Sikh heritage) and Qurram Hussain (of Pakistani Muslim heritage). They are also the only South Asian band to have received MTV Awards in both India and Pakistan, and have filmed over 13 music videos in a variety of cities including South East Asia and Canada.
JoSH will be performing with a 10 piece band at the Quebec City Summer Fest on July 14th at 5:30 PM in Quebec City at the Scene Metro (Place d'Youville). Their innovative set will also showcase a variety of South Indian instruments including the dholaks, dhol, Indian violin and flute.
