When it comes to brand Raaz, the least expectation that you have is lilting music. In each of the three instalments that has been made before, at least a couple of songs have emerged as chartbusters with the first in the series still standing out as the best till date. With Raaz Reboot, Bhatts entrust Jeet Gannguli to deliver goods for the Emraan Hashmi starrer and rope in Kausar Munir and Rashmi Virag as the lyricists.

  MUSIC

The album gets a fantastic start with Arijit Singh written 'Lo Maan Liya'. The song has everything that one expects from the setting – a melody that stays in your mind, a voice that is silken and words that are soaked in love. In fact the poetic manner in which Kausar Munir writes this one has an almost childlike innocence to it, something that really works for the song. Give this one a hear on a repeat mode.

  The title song comes next and while Arijit Singh is the man of the moment all over again, the one who holds the pen is Rashmi Virag. A beautiful song that is just the right continuation to 'Lo Maan Liya', this one has vintage Bhatt stamp to it and does well in all three departments of music all over. In fact Emraan Hashmi could well be glad that this song would continue to add on to his repertoire of soulful music. The song is later repeated in an unplugged version where Jubin Nautiyal brings on his own style into play. This one has a haunting feel to it and should make for an eerie experience when heard and seen on the big screen.

Guest composers Sangeet Haldipur-Sidharth Haldipur come on board with 'O Meri Jaan' and it is wonderful to hear the voice of K.K. in a Bhatt film all over again. In fact he is surprisingly a tad subdued in the manner he sings this one even though the passionate setting of the film could well have warranted a more high pitch singing. Nonetheless, this Kausar Munir written song also makes you lend an ear.

  Kausar Munir continues to make an impression and writes a sweet number 'Yaad Hai Na' which is sung all the more sweetly by Arijit Singh. In fact it is also one of the best songs of the soundtrack and sits right at the top alongside 'Lo Maan Liya'. A love song which fits in perfectly well with the space and setting created for Raaz Reboot, it stays in the zone in both its versions, the other sung by Jubin Nautiyal. Very nice.

  A female voice is heard for the first and the only time in the soundtrack when Palak Muchhal accompanies Papon for 'Hummein Tummein Jo Tha'. The song is basically a sadder version of 'Raaz Aankhein Teri' and while the words have been totally changed, the core music remains just the same. This one is about the protagonist realizing that all is eventually over between the duo and there is a point of no return.

  OVERALL

The music of Raaz Reboot is quite good and the best part about it is the consistency of sound that it boasts. Never once does any of the songs stray from the job that they are required to do and ensure good continuity right through the 27 minute duration.
