Suspect Courtney Lyons charged with murder in a fatal shooting incident at 14647 South Main

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of two men at 14647 South Main about 4:30 p.m. on May 14.

The suspect, Courtney Lyons (b/m, 23), is charged with murder and deadly conduct in the 338th State District Court. He is accused in the killings of Desmond Akens, 20, and Keivan Breaux, 20. Mr. Breaux was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr. Akens was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhoads and Officer R. Ridel reported:

Three male suspects, including Akens and Breaux, attempted to rob Lyons during a narcotics transaction in the parking lot at the above address. Lyons then produced a gun and shot Akens and Breaux. The third suspect was not struck. As everyone was fleeing the location, Lyons again fired his weapon and a bullet struck a house where a female resident was in her bedroom. She was not injured. Lyons then fled in a dark grey, four-door,early 2000 Honda Accord. He was positively identified as the shooter and the case was initially referred to a Harris County grand jury for its review. 

On Saturday (Dec. 13), Lyons was arrested without incident and charged in the incident.
