Charges have been filed against a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man at 10100 South Gessner #405 about 12:10 p.m. on April 13, 2009.

Michael Jackson (b/m, DOB: 2-27-81) is charged with capital murder in the 178th State District Court. He is currently being held in a Texas Department of Corrections facility on an unrelated charge.

The victim, Rodney Johnson, 31, of the above address, suffered stab wounds to the neck and chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Booth, Senior Police Officer M. Miller and Officer D. Gunter reported:

Mr. Johnson had not been seen for several days. When his girlfriend’s mother went to check on him at his apartment she discovered him dead in his bedroom.

Further investigation identified Mr. Johnson’s cousin, Jackson, as a suspect in this case. It was learned the two men had been at a club when Johnson began flashing a large amount of money. The pair then returned to Johnson’s apartment where Jackson killed him in his bedroom before taking the money and locking the front door behind him.
