Police bust $1.2 million marijuana grow-operation, Toronto

On Friday, April 1, 2001, the Toronto Police Police Drug Squad executed a search warrant at a home on Chalkfarm Drive.

It is alleged that:

– a large marijuana grow-operation was located in the residence.

– 1,228 marijuana plants, quantities of dried marijuana and a substantial amount of associated growing equipment was seized,

– the potential production value of this operation is over $1,200,000.

Hoang Nguyen, 29, and Van Nguyen, 34, both of Toronto, have each been charged with:

1- Produce Marijuana,
2- two counts of Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking,
3- Theft of Electricity.

Both accused appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, April 2, 2011, room 101, 10 a.m.
