Investigators with DRPS Major Crime Homicide Unit arrested an Oshawa man yesterday in connection to an ongoing June 2010 Oshawa homicide investigation.

On June 25, 2010, Durham Regional Police responded to a 911 call for assistance at an apartment located on Ritson Road North in Oshawa. Emergency services located two male victims suffering from multiple life-threatening injuries. The first victim, 32-year-old Derrick Brooks from Oshawa was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The second male victim sustained multiple injuries and was released following several days in hospital.

Christopher Lee DWYER, age 26 of Oshawa was arrested yesterday and is charged with: Second Degree Murder and Attempted Murder. The accused appeared in court today and was detained in custody.

Durham Regional Police have indicated that at least three males were captured on video fleeing the scene of this homicide. The investigation into the identity of the remaining two individuals is ongoing.
