On Sunday, April 24, 2011, the Sikh Spiritual Centre will be celebrating the birth of Khalsa. Event organizers are anticipating 50,000 participants, three bands, four floats, 10 vehicles and 20 bicycles.

Parade route: starts at 1 p.m., at the Better Living Centre Exhibition Place

– Eastbound: Princess Boulevard
– Southbound: Strachan Avenue southbound lanes
– Eastbound: Lakeshore Boulevard Eastbound lanes
– Northbound: York Street: northbound lanes
– Northbound University Avenue, northbound lanes

– Dispersal Area: Queen’s Park North lawn

Lane closures will occur as the parade passes through the city. Please consider alternate routes, as a baseball game is also scheduled for 1 p.m. in the downtown core.

The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
