On Sunday, May 1, 2011, the Sikh Spiritual Centre will be celebrating the birth of Khalsa. Event organizers are anticipating 50,000 participants, three bands, four floats, 10 vehicles and 20 bicycles.

Parade Route: 1:30 p.m. in Mississauga, 4 p.m. in Toronto,

Formation area: 7280 Airport Road

– Eastbound on Morning Star Drive,
– Northbound on Humberwood Boulevard,
– Northbound on Humberline Drive,
– Eastbound on Finch Avenue West,
– Northbound on Westmore Avenue.

– Dispersal Area: Sikh Spiritual Centre, 9 Carrier Drive

Road closures: 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

Humberwood Boulevard, Humberline Drive to Morningstar Drive,
Morningstar Drive, Humberwood Boulevard to Mississauga Border.

Road closures: 5 p.m.-10 p.m.

Carrier Drive, Westmore Drive to Highway 27,
Westmore Drive, Finch Avenue West to Albion Road.

The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions.
