Police on Scene of School Bus Collision, Nova Scotia

This morning at approximately 7:52 a.m., members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Windsor Rural Detachment received a 911 call regarding a collision involving a vehicle and a school bus from Annapolis Valley Regional School Board on Highway 215 in Brooklyn, Hants County.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the bus was headed West on Highway 215 and stopped. It was then rear-ended by a 2006 Hyundai. At the time of the collision, the bus was carrying 15 students, ages 10 to 15. The students and bus driver did not sustain serious injuries in the collision. The jaws of life were used to remove the lone female occupant of the Hyundai and she has been transported to the QEII with serious injuries.

Emergency responders are currently on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
