Mounties search for injured Yarmouth man Nicholas Mood

RCMP in Yarmouth County are currently investigating a home invasion that occurred earlier this morning.

At approximately 5:40 a.m. this morning, RCMP responded to a call of a home invasion on Highway 1 in Darlings Lake, Yarmouth County. The initial investigation has reveled that a 26-year-old man broke into a residence and assaulted a 26-year-old man and a dog living in the home. The man and dog both suffered serious injuries. A 23-year-old female was also in the home at the time but was not harmed. All individuals are known to each other.

RCMP are requesting public assistance in locating 26-year-old Nicholas Mood as he may be suffering from serious injuries and requires medical assistance. He is described as approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 185 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. He was wearing brown coveralls at the time.

Police are asking anyone with information on the location of Nicholas Mood to call Yarmouth Rural Detachment at (902) 742-9106.

RCMP Southwest Major Crime and Police Dog Services are continuing with the investigation.  

Update: RCMP Yarmouth County advise that Nicholas Mood has been located and is receiving medical attention.

The investigation is continuing.
