On Thursday, April 25, 2010, at approximately 4:10 p.m., the victim, a 14 year-old Mississauga girl, was walking in the area of Bloor Street East and Havenwood Drive. The victim was approached by the suspect, they engaged in a conversation and the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The victim pushed the suspect away and fled.
On Tuesday, May 4, 2010, the suspect, Susanta Kumar MUKHOPADHYAY, a 58 year-old Mississauga man, was identified and arrested. He will appear in a Brampton court on May 31, 2010.
Investigators believe that MUKHOPADHYAY may be connected to other similar incidents, which have not yet been reported.
Susanta Kumar MUKHOPADHYAY is described as South Asian, 5’3” tall, 160 lbs, with black and grey hair to the collar, and a black and grey moustache. He speaks with an accent and walks with a distinctive limp.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have had any inappropriate contact with Susanta Kumar MUKHOPADHYAY. Victims or witnesses are asked to call the Special Victims Unit at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3460.
