Auditor General Jacques Lapointe reported today, June 3, that he has referred an additional case to the RCMP.

On May 20, the Speaker’s Office informed the Auditor General that they had come into possession of evidence of possible illegalities in expense claims for a former member of the House of Assembly.

The Auditor General’s Office reviewed the information before passing it on to the RCMP for investigation.

As with previous cases, Mr. Lapointe is not disclosing the identity of the individual involved. On May 18, files related to expense claims of one current and four former members of the legislative assembly were referred to the RCMP.
