 On Wednesday, July 21, 2010, police were involved in a firearm investigation in the Weston Road/Lawrence Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

– police approached a man, who was carrying a handgun,

– the man ran off but was arrested soon after by officers,

– while struggling with officers, the man attempted to remove his handgun,

– the man was restrained and a loaded Glock 9mm handgun was seized along with some drugs.

Sean Wright, 25, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) three counts of assault with intent to resist arrest,
2) Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition,
3) Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized,
4) Possession of firearm while prohibited,
5) Possession of ammunition while prohibited,
6) Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
7) Weapons Dangerous,
8) Possession of Marijuana,
9) Carry concealed weapon.

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Thursday, July 22, 2010, room 103, at 10 a.m.
