As previously reported on Wednesday July 28th, 2010 at approximately 2:40 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Uniform Members as well as Emergency Responders attended to the intersection of Cockburn Street and Corydon Avenue for a report of an injured male.
The investigation revealed that 33 year old, Gary RENT was assaulted outside of a local establishment by a 26 year old male employee. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition and has since succumbed to his injuries. The suspect later turned himself into Police.
Nicholas Garrett SOMERS, 26 years of Winnipeg, has been charged with Manslaughter and detained.
