On August 15, 2010 at approximately 9:15 am Caledonia RCMP were dispatched to a hold up alarm at a convenience store on Biddington Avenue in Lakeville.

A 24-year-old Moncton man armed with a knife had barricaded himself in the store along with the female clerk. No one else was in the store at the time.

Police blocked surrounding streets and formed a safety perimeter around the store. The RCMP emergency response team, a negotiator, RCMP police dog and several police officers were on scene.

During the noon hour, the suspect released the clerk and attempted to run from police. He was caught by officers behind the store in a wooded area. The clerk was not physically injured. The suspect is now in police custody. Charges are pending.
