Southwest Division officers have charged a 27-year-old man with allegedly sexually assaulting three women at the Health Sciences and South Campus LRT platforms, and on a train. A fourth complainant was also allegedly assaulted.

Kurt Penasse was charged with sexual assault (x3) and assault.

Between 11:40 and 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, the accused allegedly groped three women with his hands at the LRT stations, and exposed himself to one of the complainants.

The first complainant was approached at the Health Sciences LRT platform, where the accused allegedly attempted to touch her face and follow her. The woman managed to get away. The accused then boarded a train for South Campus and allegedly groped a woman on the train. The man exited the train at South Campus and allegedly groped a third complainant on the LRT platform. The fourth complainant was allegedly pushed under the stairs on the platform and groped as well. The woman yelled for help and three near by citizens came to her aid. ETS security, along with the citizens, held the accused for police.

Penasse was in police custody by 12 p.m.

If there are any more complainants they are encouraged to call police.

“Investigators would also like to speak with witnesses who observed any of the occurrences on Aug. 30,” says Const. Darryl McDonald.
