The Hamilton Police Service have arrested and charged a Hamilton man alleged to possess child pornography on his computer and cellphone.
Members of the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit along with members of the Technological Crime Unit, and Patrol officers executed a search warrant at home on Upper Ottawa Street in Hamiltonyesterday after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) regarding an individual alleged to be uploading videos/images of child pornography to Cloud Storage. The investigation was started by a report made to Cybertips who then forwarded the information to the NCECC, which in turn provided the Hamilton Police Service with the information. A local investigation then began and resulted in today’s arrest.
Charged: Brendan Anthony, 33 yrs of age of Hamilton
Charges: Possession of Child Pornography
Hamilton Police are continuing their investigation with a detailed forensic examination of the computers and devices seized from the residence.
Anthony appeared for a bail hearing yesterday.
