Retired school teacher William Hodgson Marshall charged with sexual assault in 1953

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, police arrested a man in connection with a historical sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– during the fall of 1953, the accused worked as a school teacher at St. Michael’s College,

– the accused was coaching an afterschool basketball program and, during this time, he asked a student, a 15-year-old boy, to come into a private room at the school,

– once in the private room, the accused sexually assaulted the boy.

William Hodgson Marshall, 88, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) two accounts of Indecent Assault.

Police believe there may be more victims.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, room 111, at 11 a.m.
