On Sunday, September 26, 2010, the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5 Kilometre Walk/Run will be held.

The half marathon will have a running distance of 21.1 kilometres and the marathon will have a running distance of 42.2 kilometres (both courses are sanctioned by the Ontario Track and Field Association).

The Toronto Waterfront Order of Events is as follows:

• the half and full marathons will start at 7:30 a.m.
• the 5 kilometre walk/run will start at 11 a.m.

The event organizers are anticipating 20,000 participants for all combined events.

Various road closures will be in effect for this event starting Saturday, September 25, 2010, to accommodate the pre-event set-up.

Finish line area road closure: (starts Saturday, September 25, 2010, noon to Sunday, September 26, 2010, 6 p.m.)
– Bay Street between Queen Street West and Dundas Street West.

This section of Bay Street will remain closed until all runs are completed and the roadway can be safely re-opened to vehicular traffic at approximately 6 p.m.

Start line area road closure: (starts Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 4 p.m. curb lanes only until Sunday 4 a.m. Full road closure begins Sunday, September 26, 2010, from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m.)
– Saturday University Avenue (N/B & S/B curb lanes: between Queen Street West and Dundas Street West).
– Sunday University Avenue (full road closure: between Dundas Street West and Front Street West.

This section of University Avenue will remain closed until all equipment has been cleared from the roadway and the roadway can be safely re-opened to traffic at approximately 9 a.m.

Lake Shore Boulevard area road closures:

Lake Shore Boulevard closures will start at 5 a.m. from North Cherry Street to Windermere Avenue until approximately noon.

The Lake Shore Boulevards closure from Leslie Street to Queen Street East will start at 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Queen Street East will be closed from Coxwell Avenue to Neville Park Boulevard from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other road closures include University Avenue and Bay Street from Dundas Street West to Lake Shore Boulevard West, from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m., Eastern Avenue from Coxwell Avenue to Parliament Street, and Front Street from Parliament to York Street from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Eastbound E/B lanes Lake Shore Boulevard West – all lanes EXCEPT south side coned access lane (runs from Windermere to Ontario/Remembrance Drive)

Runners split at Fort York Boulevard, Stadium Road, two arches will span the eastbound lanes dividing the runners for the full and half marathons – use the south side lanes
-Southbound Stadium Road – southbound lanes ONLY
-Eastbound Queens Quay West – eastbound lanes ONLY
-Eastbound At Spadina Avenue, move to south side lane ONLY
(AVOID north side access lane of E/B Queens Quay between Spadina Avenue & Parliament Street)
-Eastbound at Parliament Street, turn right to E/B lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard East – E/B lanes
-Southbound Cherry Street, – Full Roadway to Commissioners Street.
-Southbound Cherry Street, at Commissioners St., runners move to N/B passing lane
-Southbound Cherry Street, at Unwin Street, runners switch back to S/B lanes to the end of Cherry
U-TURN Clarke Beach Park
-Northbound Cherry Street S., N/B lanes ONLY
-Northbound at Unwin Avenue, runners move to the N/B curb lane ONLY
-Eastbound Commissioners Street – Eastbound lanes ONLY
-Northbound Leslie Street – Northbound Lanes ONLY
-Eastbound E/B Lake Shore Boulevard East – All Eastbound Lanes to Coxwell then runners move to the E/B curb lane and continue E/B Lake Shore Boulevard East.

The TTC will experience service disruptions to surface transit routes.
