Toronto cyclist killed after being hit by a vehicle

On Sunday, September 26, 2010, at 11:09 p.m., police responded to a call for a fatal collision at the intersection of Colbourne Lodge Drive and Lake Shore Boulevard.

It is reported that:

– a 28-year-old man was riding a bicycle across Lake Shore Boulevard, from the north side to the south side, against a red traffic signal at Colbourne Lodge Drive,

– the cyclist entered the eastbound lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard and was struck by an eastbound Toyota vehicle, driven by a 30-year-old woman,

– as a result of this impact, the cyclist was thrown in the air and landed on the windshield of a Geo vehicle, eastbound on Lake Shore Boulevard.

The cyclist suffered massive trauma and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The investigation continues by members of Traffic Services.
