The Codiac Regional RCMP is investigating the sudden death of a 22-year-old woman at an apartment on Gordon Street in Moncton. Police received the call on July 23, 2014 just before 1 p.m.

A 40-year-old man was detained shortly after by Codiac RCMP at the apartment. He is facing a mischief charge unrelated to the death.

On July 2, 2014, police were called to the same apartment regarding the sudden death of a 25-year-old woman. While foul play is not suspected in that case, police are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

In the case of the death of the 22-year-woman, no cause of death has yet been established. An autopsy is being conducted to assist police. No names are being released at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
