Brantford man charged with making child pornography

The Hamilton Police Division Three Criminal Investigations Branch has made an arrest after an investigation of allegations of making child pornography. 

On May 30th, 2014, members of the Hamilton Police Service were called to a Flamborough residence to check on the well-being of a male party.  As a result of this call, officers became suspicious of communications the male had with another male in the United States. 

Members of the Division Three Criminal Investigations Branch took over the investigation and worked with investigators in the United States, as well as the Hamilton Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the Technological Crime Unit.  It was discovered the contents of the communications between the two parties constituted the Making of Child Pornography. 

On Thursday, July 24th, 2014, officers arrested and charged a 41- year- old Brantford man with Making Child Pornography. The accused’s name will not be released as it may identify the victim. He has been held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court today.
