Néguac RCMP have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a stabbing incident that happened in a home in Saint-Wilfred, N.B. on November 23, 2014 at approximately 8:30 a.m.

A suspect, armed with a knife, entered a residence on Route 450 in Saint-Wilfred, N.B., and demanded money from the resident.  A scuffle ensued, the home owner was injured and the suspect fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and was later released. No one else was injured. The suspect and victim were known to each other.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man from New Jersey, N.B. a few hours after the incident. The suspect, who was on statutory release at the time of the alleged offence, was turned over to Correctional Service Canada and returned to a correctional facility. He will face charges in connection with this incident at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
