Man arrested for threatening Dr. Pradip Ganguly in St. John’s

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Major Crime Unit has arrested and charged a Corner Brook man for his alleged involvement in a threat made against a St. John’s physician.

On Tuesday, November 16 at approximately 5:30 pm the RNC responded to a threats complainant made by St. John’s radiation oncologist, Dr. Pradip Ganguly. The doctor had received a threatening voice mail message from an unknown male on his home answering machine. The RNC Major Crime Unit have been investigating the complaint since the initial report.

On Monday, November 22 at approximately 6:15 pm investigating officers with the RNC Major Crime Unit charged a 53 year old male resident of the Corner Brook area for his alleged involvement in the incident.

The accused has been charged with uttering threats to cause death and has been released to appear in court in Corner Brook on January 4 2010.
