Edmonton Police Service Sexual Assault Section detectives have charged Peter Malko, 52, with sexual assault, sexual exploitation and uttering threats, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 in downtown Edmonton.

It was reported that a 16-year-old female was riding the LRT by the Coliseum Transit Centre at approximately 11 a.m. on Jan. 22, 2015 when she was approached by a middle-aged male. The man identified himself as a photographer for a teen magazine and stated he would like to take pictures of her for this magazine.

At approximately 11 p.m. that evening, the youth met the male at an apartment in the area of 104 Street and 98 Avenue. The male allegedly sexually assaulted the youth, who then reported the incident to police.

The Edmonton Police Service is releasing a photo of the accused because detectives believe there may be additional complainants or other individuals who Peter Malko has approached, specifically young women.

Peter Malko is a Caucasian male with dyed red hair (naturally grey), 5’6 tall, approximately 160 lbs. with dark-rimmed eye glasses and blue eyes. He may also go by the name Peter McCormack.

Police continue to investigate.
