Windsor police bust cocaine trafficking gang

Windsor Police have six people in custody facing drug charges after being found in possession of cocaine and marihuana at the Caesars Windsor Hotel last night. At 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday January 11, 2011, uniformed Windsor Police Officers received information that a man known to police was observed in the Casino hotel and that he was breaching his court imposed conditions of release. Officers attended a guest room of the hotel registered to the man and knocked on the door. The man answered the door and was immediately arrested for breaching a his condition of his release.

During the arrest, officers detected a strong odour of fresh marihuana emanating from the hotel room. Upon entering the room, officers encountered five people inside – three females and two males. Officers also located 6.7 grams of cocaine in a plastic bag and 108 grams of marihuana also in a bag on a coffee table in the hotel room.

The following are charged with two counts each of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance:

Melissa HUNTLEY – 22 years of Windsor
Tanya GATT – 27 years of Windsor
Nicola DENT – 35 years of Windsor

MIvo FRANKOVICH – 28 years of Windsor
Steven TERRY – 27 years of Windsor

Adam PELTIER – 27 years of Windsor is charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. In addition, he is also facing three charges of breaching a court imposed condition of release.

PELTIER is currently on trial facing numerous drug related charges.
